Most people are familiar with glamping by now, but just in case you’re not, the term is a play on glamorous camping, aka “glamping.” We see glamping as a luxurious experience in a unique space surrounded by nature. Bonus points if we’re staying in glamping domes or glass hotels that let us sleep under the stars (in a lavish oversized bed, of course).

Glamping comes in all styles too – it can be romantic or adventurous, secluded or all-inclusive, in a forest or in the desert — you name it. It’s just a great way to have a unique nature-filled experience without sacrificing comfort and modern luxuries.

So if you’re ready for an unforgettable luxury camping experience, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve gathered the dreamiest glamping domes and glass hotels throughout the world that will leave you daydreaming for days.

1. Panorama Glass Lodge, Iceland

The Panorama Glass Lodge in Iceland is a unique way to experience the stunning Icelandic landscape while sleeping under the stars. If you’re lucky, you may even see the Northern Lights. The lodge is located in Hella, which is less than two hours from the capital city of Reykjavik. It’s a great hotel choice for anyone driving the Ring Road or the Golden Circle, and it’s less than two hours from the popular Blue Lagoon and the new Sky Lagoon.

We were lucky enough to stay here in 2022 and had a fantastic experience. We stayed in the Alva Lodge. Each lodge has a luxurious bed that is surrounded by glass on all sides, leaving you fully immersed in the natural surroundings as you sleep. Each lodge also has a small kitchen, a seating area, a private bathroom, and an outdoor soaking tub. Guests have access to the glass box sauna on the property too, which has equally stunning views. The lodge owners have recently opened a second location in western Iceland as well.

2. Memories Aicha Luxury Camp, Jordan

Memories Aicha Luxury Camp Jordan

The Memories Aicha Luxury Camp in Jordan is an otherworldly experience and it might just be the most luxurious glamping destination on this list. We learned about this camp from our friends at VIVE Society and can’t wait to check it out ourselves soon. It’s tucked away deep in the Wadi Rum and just about as ‘off the grid’ as you can get.

The eco-friendly camp is lined with luxury tents and panoramic geodomes. The domes are made of reflective glass that appears deep blue against the stark desert landscape. The setting has often been compared to what a colony on Mars would look like. Each room is spacious with modern amenities, air conditioning, and plush bedding.

This property is more than just a glamping site though — they provide everything you need for a magical desert experience. They have an onsite restaurant, group cultural dinners, live performances, and even adventure tours, like jeep tours and camel treks.

3. Borealis Basecamp, USA

Borealis Basecamp Alaska

The Borealis Basecamp in Fairbanks Alaska is what glamping dreams are made of! This trendy adventure resort is known for its igloo-like fiberglass glamping domes, where guests can sleep under the stars and the aurora. The Basecamp is one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights. We spent several nights here recently and it was a dream come true.

The igloos have a unique concave-shaped window that stretches across the ceiling, providing an extensive view of the sky with no glare or reflections. A variety of activities are also included with most booking packages, including ATV Tours, Dogsledding, and Reindeer feedings. You can even have a private photoshoot with a professional aurora photographer during your stay.

4. Starstruck Glamping, USA

Starstruck Glamping is up next for us on our glamping journey, but we already have so much confidence in it, we had to include it on this list. Located near Big Bend, Texas, this glamping site is as bougie as it gets. And it’s located right in the middle of the largest dark sky reserve in the world! There’s literally no better place to sleep under the stars.

This hidden gem is also completely off the grid and powered by solar only, so it’s a true escape (you won’t even have cell service here). Each dome has a private outdoor kitchen, a touch firepit, an indoor mini-fridge, an en suite bathroom, and a private telescope. There are no restaurants, shops, or entertainment nearby, so this is a true camp-like experience.

5. Eco House Merisi Hotel, Georgia

The Eco House Merisi Hotel is a luxury glass hotel located in Silibauri, Georgia. This place was actually introduced to the world by TikTok several years ago, and it nearly broke the internet. Since then, millions of people have added this spot to their bucket lists. It’s certainly on ours! We’re hoping to visit next year.

The property began with just two humble cottages but now has six to choose from and an on-site restaurant. Each cottage has an all-glass bedroom that juts out dramatically from the structure, providing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The bed is surrounded by glass on all sides. There’s also a private jacuzzi and a hammock on the veranda of each cottage.

6. Whitepod, Switzerland

Whitepod Original, Switzerland

Whitepod is a unique eco-luxury pod hotel located in the Swiss Alps where guests can enjoy luxurious sustainable glamping. Waking up in a cozy dome overlooking the surrounding snow-capped mountains while the sun comes up is a truly unique experience. And there’s no shortage of activities here either. In the winter, guests can go skiing, snowboarding, and dog-sledding. And in the summer, they can explore the many alpine hiking trails.

The domes here are referred to as “pods” and there are plenty of sizes and designs to choose from, but each one comes with modern amenities, a wood-burning stove, a spa bath, and a private terrace. There are also two on-site restaurants, a panoramic sauna, Scandinavian baths, a refreshing ice room, and a yoga and workout room. Whitepod is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling through Switzerland.

7. Valley Views Glamping, New Zealand

Valley Views Glamping New Zealand

Valley Views Glamping in New Zealand is the very definition of glamping. The geodesic domes are completely off-grid (no cell service or electricity) but still truly luxurious, with plush bedding, pillowy walls, and the perfect views of the countryside. It’s a dreamy outdoor experience that allows guests to slow down and admire nature.

The property is actually quite small, with only six domes, which may explain why it still seems to be a hidden gem in New Zealand. Each dome has a private deck and is strategically placed for optimal views and privacy. Fairy lights and flickering candles light up all the glamping domes at night and guests also have access to two rustic outdoor soaking tubs.

8. Attrap’Rêves Bubble Hotel, France

Attrap’Rêves Bubble Hotel France

Attrap’Rêves Bubble Hotel is located in southern France and offers a variety of bubbles and cabins to choose from, each with its own theme. Some of the bubbles are completely transparent, blending the appeal of glamping domes and glass hotels into one, and allowing guests to fulfill their fantasies of falling asleep under the stars. This hotel is so incredibly popular that some of the bubbles are booked out for years! The Glamour Bubble in Allauch is currently accepting reservations for the year 2027.

The bubbles are made entirely of recycled materials and use a low-consumption (quiet) blower to stay inflated. Each bubble comes with a king-size bed, a light, and a table and chairs. Some rooms even come with a private telescope and a jacuzzi. The bubbles do also include a private toilet and shower in a detached bubble nearby. We think the simplicity of these bubbles makes for an even more romantic setting under the stars.

9. Northern Lights Ranch, Finland

Northern Lights Ranch Finland

Northern Lights Ranch in Finland is a true Arctic experience and it’s another perfect place to view the aurora borealis. This glass hotel is located near the popular Levi Ski Resort but it’s still far enough away to be completely void of light pollution. The glass cabins are submerged in the forest, and the snow-covered trees surrounding them create a dramatic effect.

Each cabin is an individual cube room with a luxurious bed surrounded by glass walls and a glass ceiling. The cabins also have a small seating area and an enclosed toilet and shower. Some even come with a private outdoor hot tub. Guests will also have access to an on-site restaurant, a sauna, an ice skating rink, and nearby skiing.

💣 Antisocial Tourist Tip — You may be surprised to see we didn’t include the famous Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort on this list. It’s not because we don’t think it’s a great choice — it’s just a much bigger resort than we prefer. They have 105 rooms, which is significantly more than the other recommendations on this list. If you don’t mind the people though, it’s definitely a great choice!

10. Azulik, Mexico

Azulik Mexico

Azulik Resort in Mexico is like something straight out of a dream. It’s a luxurious adult-only eco-friendly resort with chic treehouse villas and breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. Although technically not a dome, we think the villas are dome-like enough to make this list. And with no electricity, no wifi, and no cell reception, it certainly qualifies as glamping.

There are some mixed reviews on this spot, but that’s largely in part to mismanaged expectations. Many tourists show up to Azulik expecting a typical 5-star resort, but that’s not what it is. It’s a glamping experience! The rooms do have AC, but otherwise, they’re extremely rustic, with bamboo walls and palm-leaf roofs. Although we do admit that, unlike the other places on this list, the service is not always great. But the aesthetics, the design, the uniqueness, and the views, are completely worth your time.

The resort also has two on-site restaurants with Insta-famous bird nest seating, a beach club, a spa, and some impressive art installations. There are several rooms to choose from, with the most sought-after being the incredibly expensive Aqua Villa. If you’ve seen this place on social media, this is probably the villa you saw. But don’t worry if it’s out of your budget — they have plenty of affordable options too.

Final Thoughts: Best Luxury Glamping Domes and Glass Hotels Around the World

Best Luxury Glamping Domes and Glass Hotels Around the World

Glamping is a magical experience that everyone should try at least once. There’s nothing like laying under the stars, or in view of the aurora, or surrounded by snow-capped mountains, while you drift off to sleep. It’s a unique way to connect with nature and it’s the perfect way to treat yourself.

So whether you choose a remote glass lodge or a bougie desert dome, we’re certain it will be a magical experience. Happy glamping!

💣 Antisocial Tourist Tip — It’s worth noting that some of the glamping domes on this list with en suite bathrooms are open at the top, so there’s no ceiling over the toilet and shower, meaning it’s open to the entire space of the dome. This may take away some of the romance and privacy you’d expect from a glamping experience.
