This need for “MORE, MORE, MORE” has led to an entirely new way of being entertained — the immersive experience. Best Immersive Experiences in Las Vegas

Immersive experiences are emerging all over the globe, but there’s no better place to have an otherworldly experience than Las Vegas. In fact, AREA15 in Las Vegas has attracted so many new immersive exhibits since its conception in 2020 that it’s referred to as the Immersive District. So open your mind and let the world around you transform because we’ve gathered the 10 best immersive experiences in Las Vegas for you to try on your next visit.

1. Meow Wolf

Meow Wolf Las Vegas
Meow Wolf Las Vegas | Omega Mart
What Is It

Meow Wolf is an immersive art experience filled with optical illusions and secret passages. Some visitors choose to simply walk through each room and take it all in, while others spend their time trying to solve the different puzzles and secrets hidden within the exhibit. Each Meow Wolf experience is completely unique.

Why You Should Go

Meow Wolf is a downright perplexing experience and we believe everyone should try it. You’ll wander through dozens of trippy rooms covered from floor to ceiling in mind-bending art. Rooms are connected by hidden and unexpected passageways that reveal portals to other worlds and dimensions.

Santa Fe is home to the first Meow Wolf exhibit which is still open today. They now have three more locations in Las Vegas, Denver, and Grapevine, Texas. Each location is completely unique and different from the others. Meow Wolf Las Vegas is referred to as Omega Mart because of its supermarket-themed entrance.

Who Can Get In

Guests of all ages are welcome.

How To Get In

Meow Wolf is located inside of AREA15. It’s important to note that Meow Wolf and AREA15 are NOT the same things. Think of AREA15 as the building that holds all of these great experiences, but each experience does require its own ticket. Meow Wolf tickets are sold on a timed ticketing system. Parking is limited and tickets sell out fast. Get your tickets here.

2. Illuminarium

Illuminarium Las Vegas
Illuminarium Las Vegas | SPACE
What Is It

Illuminarium is a large-scale 360° immersive cinematic experience. In other words, it’s a unique sensory experience that lets you feel like you’ve walked directly into a movie. The space also has in-floor haptics to produce realistic sensations and added scents to make the experience more authentic. Depending on the show you pick, you could feel the vibrations as a herd of elephants pass by, or leave your footprints on the moon.

Why You Should Go

Illuminarium is the most classic example of an immersive experience on this list. You can choose between the SPACE experience and the WILD experience. In SPACE you’ll take a journey across the galaxy and in WILD you’ll walk among exotic animals during a safari. Once you’ve arrived, you’ll enter a large room and take a seat wherever looks comfortable. When the show starts and the music begins, the walls, ceilings, and floors will display stunning projections, transforming the world around you.

Better yet, Illuminarium becomes an adults-only cocktail experience at night called Illuminarium After Dark. It’s the same experience as the daytime show but will a signature cocktail in hand and no kids in sight.

Who Can Get In

Guests of all ages are welcome during the day. At night, guests must be 21 or older.

How To Get In

Illuminarium is located on the AREA15 campus, next to the Meow Wolf. Parking is limited. Tickets are sold for specific showtimes, not for blocks of time, so be sure to arrive on time. Get your tickets here.

4. Particle Ink: House of Shattered Prisms

Luxor Las Vegas
What Is It

Particle Ink: House of Shattered Prisms is one of the most innovative immersive experiences in Las Vegas. It’s basically a show that blends live performance with animation in a way that brings the story to life (quite literally). They call it the 2.5th dimension.

The show features multiple acrobatic dance duets where one partner is a human performer and the other is an animated character named Particle. Particle is capable of conveying a wide range of human emotions through his movements. Guests wander from room to room, following both live actors and animated figures as the show progresses.

Why You Should Go

Particle Ink offers a unique, next-generation immersive experience where technology and human emotions intersect. The show’s theme is more serious, revolving around loss and the journey to regain one’s footing. It’s a deeper and more reflective experience compared to typical Las Vegas entertainment.

Who Can Get In

Guests must be 6 years or older to attend.

How To Get In

Particle Ink is located inside the Luxor Hotel & Casino, one of the themed hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Shows are performed Saturday through Wednesday at 7:00 pm with an additional show at 5:00 pm on Saturdays only. Grab your tickets here.

5. Flyover Las Vegas

Flyover Vegas Trailer
What Is It

Flyover Vegas is one of our favorite things to do in Las Vegas! It’s an immersive flight ride experience that uses state-of-the-art technology to create the sensation of flying. While the simulation will make you feel as though you’re flying through the air at a moderate speed, in reality, you’re only about 10 feet off the ground and hardly moving. The ride even goes as far as misting you with water when you fly over waterfalls, filling the air with scents of nature that match the changing landscapes, and increasing the wind as you soar over mountains.

Why You Should Go

Flyover Vegas is the perfect way to get the thrilling experience of a “ride” without being tossed around like a ragdoll. Once you board the flight, you’ll place your belongings under your seat, strap in, and be suspended in the air in front of a 50 ft curved screen. The lights will go out, the screen will turn on, and you’ll be whisked away on an exhilarating journey through the sky, complete with winds, mists, and scents. It’s comparable to Epcot’s Soarin’ Around the World.

We haven’t had a chance to try this Vegas location yet, but we have done the same ride at Flyover America (Mall of America location) and Flyover Iceland (Reykjavik, Iceland location), and we loved them both. We honestly plan to do this ride as many times as we can — it’s really fun! Each Flyover location will have 2 or 3 “shows” to choose from, such as Flyover America, Flyover Canada, or Flyover Iceland. Specialty shows are often added for limited periods of time too — we were able to ride Flyover Hawaii and The Real Wild West when we visited the Mall of America’s location.

Who Can Get In

Guests of all ages are welcome. Children must be at least 40″ tall in order to ride.

How To Get In

Flyover Vegas is located right on the Strip next to Hard Rock Cafe. Tickets are available online or in person. Tickets are good for any time on the day that you choose. You can purchase your tickets online here.

6. The Sphere Experience

MSG Sphere Las Vegas
Sphere | Las Vegas
What Is It

The Las Vegas Sphere is one of the newest Las Vegas experiences. It’s a spherical-shaped music and entertainment venue. This venue is unlike any other though, because the entire exterior of the building is covered with a 580,000-square-foot LED display, while the inside houses a 160,000-square-foot wraparound LED display.

The Sphere has more than 18,000 seats that wrap around half of the interior and climb the wall so tall that the highest seat in the house is the best place to be. The venue plans to host a wide variety of events, including immersive experiences, concert residencies, marquee sporting events, and more.

Why You Should Go

The Sphere celebrated its grand opening in September of 2023, kicking off its residency lineup with an extended series of U2 concerts. But remember, the Sphere isn’t just a concert venue. They also offer The Sphere Experience featuring a 50-minute film called Postcard from Earth.

Postcard from Earth will take over your senses. Not only will you be transported into the stunning scenery displaced on the screen that wraps all the way around you, but you’ll also feel vibrations, wind, temperature changes, and scent effects, as the show unfolds. It’s comparable to Epcot’s Soarin’ the World or Flyover Vegas, but on a much grander scale and with stationary seats.

Who Can Get In

Each event will have its own age restrictions. For the current immersive show, Postcard from Earth, guests should be 6 years or older. All guests, regardless of age, must have their own ticket.

How To Get In

The Sphere is located next to The Venetian Resort, which is one of the best hotels to stay at on the Strip. You can enter through the Plaza Entry on the east side of the building, or by using The Venetian pedestrian bridge. If you enter through The Venetian, follow signs for the Convention Center.

Tickets for shows at the Sphere are available on Ticketmaster and in person from the Sphere concierge. If you do purchase tickets in person, the concierge is open on event days beginning two hours before the first show’s start. The concierge is located by the Plaza Entry.

Concerts are available on select Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Special events are held on various dates, and the Sphere Experience Postcard from Earth is available on all other days. Grab your tickets for the Postcard from Earch Sphere Experience here.

7. BLACKOUT Dining in the Dark

Immersive Experiences Las Vegas
BLACKOUT Dining in the Dark | Las Vegas
What Is It

Dining in the dark is an immersive experience for your senses. It’s meant to take away your sight and put your other senses to the test. You’ll dine on a seven-course prix-fix meal in a pitch-black room with no description of what you’re eating. Servers are equipped with night vision goggles so they can move around the dark room. You’ll taste, smell, hear, and feel your food, but you won’t see it.

Why You Should Go

Dining in the dark experiences have popped up in a few other states, but many locations choose to blindfold their guests instead of creating a dark space. BLACKOUT Dining in the Dark Las Vegas is the only true blackout dining experience that we’ve found.

Once you arrive, you’ll be asked to place all light-emitting objects, including phones, watches, lighters, and cameras, into secure lockers that are provided for free to all guests. Your server will then escort you into the pitch-black dining room. Not being able to see anything will force you to slow down and really focus on your surroundings. You’ll then be served a seven-course plant-based meal but you won’t be told what you’re eating until the end. If you have an open mind, you may even discover something delicious that you wouldn’t have tried otherwise.

Who Can Get In

Guests must be 13 years or older to dine.

How To Get In

Walk-ins are welcomed, but reservations are strongly encouraged. Dinner is served Thursday through Monday from 4 pm to 10 pm. The restaurant is located just off the Strip on South Valley View Blvd. Book your table here.

8. The Lock & The Cabinet of Curiosities

The Lock Speakeasy Las Vegas
The Lock Las Vegas
What Is It

The Cabinet of Curiosities is a bar and lounge where you can enjoy a cocktail while solving puzzles and perusing a collection of artifacts and oddities from around the world. Hidden within the lounge is a door to The Lock. The Lock is an immersive speakeasy experience that will transport you to another period of time. Only those with the correct password will be able to get past the doorkeeper, but even then, you’ll need to crack a series of codes to find the key before you’re able to step through the final door and into the bar.

Why Should You Go

Speakeasy-themed bars are nothing new, but The Lock is on another level. Not only does it feel dangerously exclusive knowing that visitors who don’t know how to get in will be denied access, but they also add a secretive twist with puzzles, riddles, and imaginative staff to help you figure things out along the way.

The Lock is an immersive speakeasy experience, sort of like a mini escape room game that ends with an amazing cocktail. Just be aware, that there is a two-drink minimum and the drinks are pricey! But what isn’t in Vegas? Our favorite part about The Lock is the second hidden speakeasy within the speakeasy! Once you get inside, look for the painting on the wall to the right of the bar.

Who Can Get In

All guests must be 21 or older.

How To Get In

You’ll start by going to the Cabinet of Curiosities which is a cocktail bar inside of Horseshoe Las Vegas (formerly Bally’s). Inside this bar, you’ll see a phone on the wall next to a door with a lock over it. Pick up the phone and tell the person on the other end the name you put on your reservation (this is your password).

The door will open and you’ll be led into a room where a narrative is revealed, setting the stage for the puzzle you need to solve. As you work through the clues, you’ll find parts of the code hidden within various locks. Once you work out the code, you enter it into one of the doors, which then opens to reveal a passageway. You’ll crawl through and find a 1920s-themed speakeasy on the other side (if you can’t crawl, they will let you through a different secret door). Reservations can be made here (look for the keyhole).

9. The Escape Game Las Vegas

Escape Game Las Vegas
The Escape Game Las Vegas
What Is It

Escape rooms are quite common, but nonetheless, they’re a great time. You’re essentially locked in a room where you’ll have a limited amount of time to solve puzzles and find clues in order to escape. We haven’t tried this one in Vegas yet, but we’ve done others and highly recommend the experience. If you’re competitive at all, your heart will be racing as you fight the clock to find clues.

Why You Should Go

Escape rooms are not all created equally — in fact, a lot of them can be a major letdown. You won’t need to worry about this at The Escape Room Las Vegas though — it was voted the #1 escape room in the country! You can pick from six different games that range in difficulty including a special ops mission, a museum heist, and a mysterious undersea laboratory.

Who Can Get In

Guests of all ages are welcome.

How To Get In

The Escape Game is located in The Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace (right on the Strip). You will need to book tickets in advance. Keep in mind that all games have the potential to be shared with other people, so you may end up playing with strangers. Larger groups can call ahead to reserve private rooms. Book your tickets here.

10. Van Gogh Las Vegas

Van Gogh Las Vegas
Van Gogh Las Vegas
What Is It

The Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit is very similar to Illuminarium, only you’re immersed in a painting instead of a specific place. Van Gogh’s paintings are brought to life by animated and interactive projections that portray some of his most famous works, including La Nuit étoilée (Starry Night, 1889), Les Tournesols (Sunflowers, 1888), and La Chambre à coucher (The Bedroom, 1889).

Why You Should Go

The Van Gogh exhibit has been popping up all over the globe for years and to date, more than 70 million people have seen it. We did this experience in Las Vegas in 2021 and it honestly gave us a new appreciation of Van Gogh.

The show lasts about 30 minutes and is played on a continuous loop, so you can jump in at any time and stay as long as you want. You’ll walk into the room, take a seat, and be surrounded on all sides by animated projections of Van Gogh’s artworks. A server will take your drink order and you can lounge around sipping cocktails and getting lost in the madness and brilliance of the paintings.

Who Can Get In

Guests of all ages are welcome.

How To Get In

The Van Gogh exhibit was located inside AREA15 as a temporary installation, but it was so successful that it’s been relocated to a more permanent location at the Shops at Crystals (Level 3), next to ARIA Resort & Casino (one of our favorite hotels on the Strip). Tickets are sold on a timed ticketing system, but once you arrive, you can stay as long as you’d like. Purchase tickets online here.
